Anyone else noticing a major uptick in 'efficiency' meetings?

0x7f73…4468Lately it feels like every other meeting is about 'streamlining processes' or 'optimizing workflows.' I get that companies always want to be efficient, but this feels different. There's a lot of talk about reducing 'redundancies' and 'synergies,' which sounds like code for something more, you know? My manager is being super cagey when asked directly, just saying it's 'standard business review.' Meanwhile, my workload feels like it's doubling. We're being pushed to take on tasks that were previously handled by other teams, or even outsourced. Just wondering if this is a company-wide thing or if I'm in a particularly 'efficient' department. Anyone else getting this vibe?
