Experiencing the 'hollowed out' feeling - fewer people doing more.

It's becoming increasingly difficult to ignore the elephant in the room. There haven't been any official announcements, but the feeling of being 'hollowed out' is palpable. Projects that used to have ample resources are now stretched thin, and people are being asked to wear multiple hats. When you ask about backfilling roles or getting more support, the answers are always vague, citing 'budgetary constraints' or 'strategic realignments.' It feels like a slow, silent attrition rather than a sudden, sharp cut. Is anyone else in a similar boat? I'm starting to worry about burnout and the long-term sustainability of our current operations.

I've definitely noticed this too. It feels like the workload hasn't decreased, but the headcount certainly has. Trying to maintain quality and meet deadlines with fewer hands on deck is a constant challenge. The 'vague answers' are the most frustrating part; it leaves everyone guessing and feeling insecure about the future.

This sentiment is shared by many. The pressure to do more with less is immense. It's disheartening to see experienced colleagues leave and not be replaced, leaving those remaining to pick up the slack. The lack of transparency around these staffing changes only amplifies the anxiety.
