Internal job transfers drying up?

I've been keeping an eye on internal postings for a while, looking for a move to a different division. Usually, there's a steady stream of opportunities, even if they're competitive. But for the past couple of months, it's been radio silence. Most roles that do pop up seem to be immediately filled or withdrawn within days. Has anyone else noticed this? It feels like they've slammed the brakes on internal mobility, which is usually a good sign when things are stable. Combined with the general 'belt-tightening' talk and the increased scrutiny on budgets, I'm starting to get a bit uneasy. Is this a sign of things to come, or am I just overthinking it because I'm eager for a change?

Yeah, I've seen the same thing. It's definitely quieter than usual on the internal posting front. Makes you wonder what's going on behind the scenes. I was hoping to switch teams soon, but the lack of movement is a bit concerning. Hopefully, it's just a temporary lull and not a sign of bigger changes coming down the pipeline.

Interesting you bring this up. I've been trying to move internally for over six months and the pickings have been incredibly slim lately. Roles disappear so fast, it's like they're posted and filled in the same hour. It does make you question the company's stability when internal opportunities dry up like this. Makes you wonder if external hiring is being restricted too.
