Heard some buzz from leadership about 'enhancing our focus on core competencies' and 'streamlining operations' across several business units. On the surface, it sounds like a good business strategy. But knowing how these things often play out, I can't help but feel like this is code for something else. Usually, this kind of 'strategic realignment' eventually leads to a reduction in force, especially in areas deemed outside the 'core.' There haven't been any official layoff announcements, and hiring seems to be on a slow freeze, but this talk of 'efficiency' and 'focus' feels like it's paving the way.
