Unusual budget reviews and project pauses happening across the board?

Hey everyone, I've been at 3M for a few years now, and things have felt... off lately. My department just had an unexpectedly intense budget review, and a few projects we thought were solid have been put on indefinite pause, with very little explanation. It's not just my team either, I've been chatting with people in other divisions, and they're seeing similar things – increased scrutiny on spending, delays in approving new initiatives, and a general sense of things slowing down. It feels like more than just a typical end-of-year pinch. Anyone else experiencing this widespread caution or slowdown in project approvals and funding? Trying to get a read on the general atmosphere.

Definitely seeing some similar vibes. The whispers about budget tightening have been around for a bit, but the scale of these pauses feels new. Makes you wonder what's driving it – broader economic shifts, internal restructuring, or something else entirely? It's unsettling not having clear communication, especially when you're invested in those projects.

Yep, it's not just you. The 'pause' seems to be the new keyword. My team's been told to hold off on any non-essential spending, and even 'essential' is being defined very narrowly. The lack of concrete reasons is the most frustrating part. Hopefully, there's a strategic plan behind this and not just random belt-tightening.
