AbbVie - Questions about performance reviews and impact on future roles

So, performance review season is coming up, and honestly, I'm feeling a bit uneasy. There's been a lot of talk about 'strategic realignments' and 'efficiency improvements' lately, which sounds like corporate speak for 'we might be looking at headcount.' I've been doing my best, hitting my goals, but the pressure feels higher than ever. I'm wondering how these reviews are being weighted this year, especially if there's any kind of potential reduction in force down the line. Are managers being given specific targets for ratings? Is it more about overall contribution or hitting very specific, potentially shifting, metrics? Trying to prepare myself and understand what might be coming. Any advice on how to navigate this, or has anyone heard anything specific about how performance is being evaluated in the current climate at AbbVie? Feeling a bit anxious about how my contributions are being perceived.

I'm in a similar boat. The buzzwords are definitely unsettling, and it's hard to know what's really going on behind the scenes. I'm trying to focus on documenting my contributions clearly and having open conversations with my manager about expectations. Hoping for some clarity soon, but preparing for the worst just in case.

Hang in there. It's completely understandable to feel anxious with all the 'realignments' talk. My advice is to make sure your achievements are visible and directly linked to team and company objectives. Document everything, and don't be afraid to ask your manager for specific feedback on how you're meeting expectations, especially in light of any potential changes.
