Hey everyone, throwing this out there anonymously because I'm genuinely trying to get a pulse on things at AbbVie. No official word on layoffs, but the atmosphere feels... off. Been noticing some odd signals lately. My team's project scope got significantly narrowed last week with a vague explanation about "strategic realignment." Also heard through the grapevine that some external contractors were let go without much fanfare. Hiring on my end has definitely stalled; jobs that were open for months are now just gone from the internal portal. Is anyone else in different departments seeing similar things? Are budgets really tightening up across the board, or is this just localized weirdness? Trying to figure out if it's worth updating the resume just in case, or if I'm overthinking it. Any intel from R&D, Commercial, or Mfg would be super helpful.

Interesting post. I haven't directly experienced the project scope changes, but I have noticed a general slowdown in onboarding new hires and a bit more caution around budgets for things like training and travel. It's definitely a different feel than it was even six months ago. Makes you wonder if it's just a seasonal lull or something more structural happening behind the scenes. While my team hasn't been directly impacted by scope reductions, there's a definite increase in internal communication about efficiency and resource optimization. The contractor situation you mentioned is also something I've heard whispers about – seems like they're being more selective. It's a bit unsettling when things aren't explicitly communicated, but I'm trying to stay focused on delivering value regardless of the external noise.
