Just saw the filing for the 138 cuts in CA effective mid-December. It’s always the same story—leadership talks about 'streamlining' and 'operational efficiency' while the rest of us are left checking our emails every five minutes waiting for that invite from HR. The timing right before the holidays is particularly brutal. Is anyone else seeing shifts in their specific therapeutic areas, or is this still localized to the CA site? I’m starting to get the feeling that no department is truly safe, regardless of what they said during the last all-hands. I’ve been here for years, but the culture has shifted so much since the integration. It feels like we’re just numbers on a spreadsheet now rather than people working on actual medicine. If you’re in one of the impacted groups, hang in there—the market is tough right now, but start updating those resumes immediately if you haven't already.

It’s honestly sickening to see these cuts drop right before the holidays. They talk about efficiency, but we all know it’s just about padding the numbers for the next quarterly report. I’ve heard rumors that the layoffs aren't just limited to California; they seem to be cutting across multiple hubs to trim the fat before year-end. At this point, the 'streamlining' language is just a tired excuse to clear out tenure and lower payroll costs. Keep your head down and start polishing your resume now, because no one is safe when leadership decides it’s time for another round of restructuring.
