Anyone else feeling the chill at AbbVie?

Hey all, been with AbbVie for a few years now in [department, e.g., R&D/Commercial]. Lately, the atmosphere feels... off. Not hearing direct layoff talk, but there's a definite shift. Hiring freezes in some areas, project scopes being re-evaluated more aggressively, and just a general sense of caution. My manager is being cagey about future headcount. Is anyone else in different departments seeing similar trends? Just trying to gauge if this is a company-wide thing or if I'm just in a bubble. Trying not to spiral, but the whispers are getting louder.

Yeah, I'm definitely feeling that caution creep in. We haven't had any outright freezes in my area of Commercial, but the pace of approvals for new initiatives has definitely slowed. There's a lot more scrutiny on ROI and justification for any new spending. It's not necessarily a bad thing from a business perspective, but it does make things feel a bit tighter and less spontaneous than it used to.

I can echo that sentiment from the R&D side. While we're still pushing forward on key projects, there's a palpable sense of 'doing more with less.' Resource allocation is extremely strategic, and any new projects are being vetted with an almost surgical precision. It feels like the company is really prioritizing its core strengths and tightening the belt elsewhere. Not hearing layoff rumors either, but the efficiency drive is definitely noticeable.
