Anyone else seeing unexpected 'talent acquisition' reviews?

Been hearing whispers through the grapevine about a more rigorous review process for open roles, especially those that aren't in immediate R&D or critical manufacturing. It's not a full stop, but it feels like every single position outside the absolute essentials is getting a really hard look before it gets approved. We've got a couple of roles on my team that have been open for months, and the hiring manager seems to be getting grilled on the necessity every time they check in. This wasn't the case even six months ago. Anyone else experiencing this in their departments? Trying to figure out if it's a company-wide thing or just specific to certain divisions.

Yeah, I've noticed something similar. There's definitely a shift in how roles are being evaluated. It feels like a much tighter budget scrutiny is happening across the board, and 'talent acquisition' is just one of the areas where it's becoming more visible. Makes sense in the current economic climate, I guess.

Interesting. I haven't directly experienced it on my team, but I have heard from others that approvals are taking longer and require more justification, particularly for non-essential roles. It's good to see the company being prudent with resources, but it does make the hiring process a bit more of a marathon.
