Has anyone else's workload mysteriously increased without new hires?

It feels like my plate keeps getting fuller, but there haven't been any new additions to the team, and in fact, I've seen a couple of people leave my immediate group over the past few months. My manager keeps saying things like 'streamlining processes' and 'increasing efficiency,' which usually translates to me doing more work with the same (or fewer) resources. I'm finding it harder and harder to keep up without sacrificing quality or burning myself out. Is anyone else feeling this crunch? It's starting to feel less like 'efficiency' and more like we're expected to absorb the work of people who aren't here anymore. Makes you wonder if they're trying to see how much people can handle before something gives.

Absolutely feel this. The 'streamlining' language is a classic sign that more is expected without more support. It's like they're trying to squeeze every last drop out of us. I've been working late nights and weekends just to stay afloat, and it's definitely starting to take a toll. Quality is starting to slip because I'm rushing, and the burnout is real. It's frustrating to see the company talk about growth while the people doing the actual work are stretched so thin. Makes you wonder what the long-term plan is if key people are leaving and the remaining ones are overloaded.

Yes, I'm in the same boat. It's been a noticeable uptick in tasks and responsibilities lately, yet the team size remains stagnant, or even decreased. The 'efficiency' talk is constant, but it feels like a euphemism for 'do more with less.' Trying to balance everything without letting standards slip is a serious challenge, and the pressure is mounting. I'm constantly worried about dropping a ball or not being able to deliver the same level of service due to the sheer volume. Hope it gets better, but right now, it's a grind.
