Internal reorg speculation - what's really going on?

Seeing a lot of chatter internally about potential 'streamlining' and 'efficiency improvements' across a few departments. It's vague, as usual, but the vibe feels... off. My team lead has been super cagey about upcoming projects and resource allocation, and skip-level meetings are being rescheduled constantly. Anyone else in different therapeutic areas or functions picking up on similar signals? Is this just standard year-end shuffling, or are we looking at something more significant? Feels like leadership is preparing us for something, but nobody's saying it directly. Trying to stay focused on my work, but the uncertainty is making it hard. I'm hearing whispers in my department too, though maybe not as intense. 'Efficiency' and 'synergy' are the buzzwords, which usually means heads will roll or jobs will get consolidated. Best advice I can give is to document everything you're working on, be indispensable if possible, and keep your resume polished. Honestly, I've seen this song and dance before at other big pharma companies. 'Reorgs' are almost a ritual. Unless there are specific rumors of major drug pipeline issues or executive departures, I'd chalk it up to typical corporate maneuvering. They always find a reason to shuffle things around to justify management's existence. Don't let the 'vibe' get to you too much, but yes, staying informed is always wise.
