Is the pipeline being prioritized over people again?

I’m honestly exhausted by the constant pivot in strategy. It feels like every six months we hear about 'refocusing the portfolio,' which is just code for cutting staff to make the margin look better for shareholders. I understand we have to remain competitive, but how much more can they strip from the core teams before we stop being able to deliver on the current assets? The level of anxiety in my team is at an all-time high. Everyone is looking over their shoulders, and productivity has tanked because nobody knows if their project is getting shelved by Q1. Leadership keeps pushing the 'innovation' narrative, but it’s hard to innovate when you’re worried about whether you’ll have a job in 60 days. Has anyone else felt like the mission is being buried under the sheer weight of these constant restructures? It used to feel like a place where you could build a career, now it just feels like a gig economy job with better benefits.

It’s a toxic cycle that’s become standard operating procedure. They talk about innovation and patient-centricity in the town halls, but the actual day-to-day reality is a ruthless pursuit of quarterly margins at the expense of the people doing the work. You’re not alone in feeling this way; morale is cratering across the board. When you treat your core talent as nothing more than a line item to be trimmed whenever the stock price wobbles, you eventually hollow out the institutional knowledge required to succeed. It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re constantly waiting for the next round of layoffs to drop.
