Project timelines getting aggressively compressed?

Lately, it feels like every project I'm on has had its deadlines slashed. Not just by a few days, but significantly. My manager keeps saying it's about 'driving efficiency' and 'accelerating innovation,' but it's leading to a ton of overtime and frankly, a lot of corners being cut. We're skipping validation steps, reducing scope on non-critical path items, and the quality is starting to suffer. Anyone else seeing this kind of pressure to just get things done *faster* regardless of the impact on long-term maintainability or even current output quality? Feels like a recipe for disaster down the line.

Yeah, I've definitely felt that crunch lately. It's like the goalposts are constantly moving backward, and the 'innovation' part feels more like a panic button than a strategy. The pressure to just push through is intense, and I worry about the long-term consequences when we're not giving things the proper time they deserve. It's a tough environment when you know corners are being cut.

Totally relate. 'Driving efficiency' often translates to 'more work for less time,' doesn't it? We're seeing similar things – skipped steps, reduced scope, and the looming fear that something will slip through the cracks because we were rushed. It's frustrating to feel like the focus is purely on speed, at the potential expense of the quality and integrity of our work. Hope things ease up soon.
