I've noticed something similar. It's definitely a strange allocation of resources when core work is being sidelined. Are these projects at least providing visibility or opportunities for skill development, or is it more of a time-filler situation? I'm curious if there's a strategic reason behind it that isn't being communicated effectively, or if it's just a sign of some internal reorganization or shifting priorities.
Totally feel you on this. It's frustrating when you're taken away from tasks that directly contribute to team goals for something so undefined. It makes it hard to prioritize and can lead to a feeling of being stretched too thin. Hopefully, there's some clarity coming soon about what the actual purpose of these special projects is and how they align with the broader company objectives.
