Officially, Accenture says no layoffs. But I've noticed our campus recruiting seems significantly scaled back this year, and I haven't seen many new external hires popping up on projects that aren't critical. It's like a quiet freeze. My manager is cagey when I ask, just saying 'we're being strategic with our talent investments.' That usually translates to something less pleasant down the line, in my experience. The market feels shaky, and while big consulting firms are usually somewhat insulated, this feels different. Just trying to gauge if this is a widespread observation or if my local office is an outlier. Feels like the calm before a storm, or maybe just a prolonged period of belt-tightening.

Definitely feeling the slowdown too. My team's projects have been stretched thin, and bringing on new people seems like a distant dream. 'Strategic talent investments' sounds like corporate speak for 'we're not hiring much right now.' It's unsettling, especially when you see the 'stay lean' mentality creeping in. I've heard similar things. The campus recruitment numbers are way down compared to previous years, and it feels like they're prioritizing internal moves over external hires for most roles.
