Are we 'right-sizing' or just shedding talent?

0x7371…407fBeen with Accenture for a while, and the narrative feels a bit different lately. There's a lot of internal talk about 'optimizing our workforce' and 'strategic realignment,' which always makes me nervous. It's not the big, loud layoffs some other companies have done, but it feels like a more insidious kind of reduction. I'm seeing more performance improvement plans being initiated, and some long-term, high-performing individuals are suddenly finding themselves on the bench with limited project opportunities. It feels like the company is trying to trim fat without the PR hit of mass layoffs. Has anyone else experienced this? It's making people anxious, wondering if they're next to be 'optimized' out the door, especially if they're not on a high-profile project or if their skillset is perceived as less critical right now. Curious to hear if others are feeling this pressure and what the strategy seems to be.
