I know there haven't been any official announcements, but has anyone else noticed a weird vibe lately? Projects seem to be getting smaller, some are being 'paused' indefinitely, and there's a general sense of unease. I've seen a couple of high-performers get 'performance managed' out in the last quarter, and it wasn't just a gentle nudge. It feels less like a 're-org' and more like they're trying to trim headcount without making a splash. My manager is super cagey when asked about future resource needs, and the usual 'busy season' feels strangely quiet. Anyone else in consulting seeing similar patterns? Feels like we're walking on eggshells here.

Totally feel this. It's not just you. My team's been hit with budget cuts, and we're seeing the same 'paused' projects and folks quietly exiting. It's definitely unsettling when there's no clear communication from leadership. Makes it hard to plan or feel secure about your role. Hoping it's just a temporary dip and things will pick up soon, but the current uncertainty is tough.

I've heard similar whispers too. The lack of transparency is the worst part. When people start looking for new opportunities because of the 'vibe,' that's never a good sign for morale or retention. Seems like a lot of us are in the same boat, trying to decipher the signals and just hoping for the best while keeping our ears to the ground. Fingers crossed things stabilize quickly.
