I'm hearing similar whispers across different service lines. The utilization pressure is definitely real, and it feels like there's a constant underlying anxiety about project pipelines and resource allocation. It's hard to say definitively if it's a 'slow season' or something more systemic, but the shift in atmosphere is undeniable. Management seems a bit more tight-lipped than usual, which doesn't exactly inspire confidence either.
It's definitely a strange time. I've noticed a lot more emphasis on 'efficiency' and 'optimizing delivery,' which often translates to fewer people doing more work. While no one's outright saying layoffs, the constant focus on metrics and the feeling that projects are less secure than before is creating a lot of uncertainty. Hopefully, it's just a temporary market correction and not a sign of bigger issues.
