Rumblings about headcount freezes and hiring slowdown?

Been hearing some whispers around the office lately, nothing concrete, but definitely a general feeling of unease. Seems like new hiring has slowed to a crawl, and I've heard a few project managers mention internal discussions about potential headcount freezes in certain areas. Is this just a specific practice group, or is anyone else in other parts of Accenture noticing a shift? Feels like the 'growth' narrative is being replaced by 'efficiency' talk. Might just be the natural ebb and flow, but with everything else going on in the market, it's hard not to connect the dots. Curious if anyone has more direct info or has seen similar trends in their teams or clients.

Yeah, I've definitely felt that shift too. The 'efficiency' buzzwords are everywhere, and it seems like discretionary spending and new initiatives are being scrutinized much more closely. Makes sense given the current economic climate, but it does change the vibe from the 'go-go-go' days. Hope it's just a temporary adjustment.

Can confirm the hiring slowdown in my area. We had a couple of planned hires get put on hold indefinitely, and there's a lot more internal movement being encouraged rather than bringing in fresh faces. The 'growth' talk has definitely been replaced with a focus on optimizing existing resources. Not entirely surprising, but definitely noticeable.
