Utilization pressure is insane right now

Seriously, has anyone else noticed the absolute hammer coming down on utilization and billable hours? It feels like every conversation with my manager, and even their manager, is about getting more hours logged and hitting those targets. Projects are drying up, or at least the *new* ones are, and it feels like everyone's scrambling to stay on the bench or get onto something billable. I've been here a few years and it's always been a thing, but this feels different, much more intense. Are they gearing up for something, or is this just the new normal post-peak hiring? Feels like a lot of people are getting nervous, and honestly, I'm starting to feel it too.

Yeah, I'm definitely feeling it too. It's gotten way more aggressive than I remember. It's like they're trying to squeeze every last minute out of us, even if it means over-servicing clients or doing busy work. Makes you wonder what the long-term strategy is if projects aren't coming in. The pressure to just log hours, regardless of actual value, is starting to feel unsustainable and frankly, demoralizing. Hope things pick up soon.
