Anyone else feel like projects are getting smaller scope lately?

Been at Adobe for a few years now, and over the last couple of quarters, I've noticed a shift. It feels like projects that used to be slated for a year are now being broken down into much smaller, bite-sized chunks. Like, we're getting a lot more 'mini-projects' and fewer of the big, ambitious ones. Is this just my team or a broader trend? On one hand, it makes things feel more manageable, and we can deliver value faster on smaller pieces. But on the other hand, it also feels like we're not pushing the needle on larger strategic initiatives as much. It's a bit of a strange vibe. Makes me wonder if this is a precursor to something, or just a change in how we're prioritizing work. Anyone else experiencing something similar? What are your thoughts on this shift?

Yeah, I'm seeing something similar. It feels like a deliberate strategy to prioritize quicker wins and iterate more rapidly. While I appreciate the faster delivery cycles on smaller features, I do wonder if it sometimes means the truly groundbreaking, long-term vision gets deprioritized or spread too thin across many smaller efforts. It can make it harder to see the forest for the trees sometimes.

Definitely a trend here too. We're breaking down larger initiatives into what feel like very granular tasks. It's good for hitting immediate metrics and showing progress, but I'm also feeling that lack of a 'big picture' momentum. Sometimes it feels like we're constantly context-switching between these smaller pieces without the satisfaction of completing a significant, impactful project. Curious to hear if others have found ways to maintain that larger vision.
