It is definitely happening across the board. I have been at Adobe for several years, and this is the quietest I have ever seen the internal channels. My manager used to be very transparent about hiring plans, but now the party line is just 'strategic alignment' and 'operational efficiency.' It’s frustrating because the workload hasn't decreased even though we are down two heads on my team. Don't take the silence personally; it seems like a top-down mandate to stop all movement until the new fiscal quarter at the earliest.
Same boat here. The 'resource distribution' talk is just corporate speak for 'do more with less' while they keep everyone in the dark. I have noticed the same thing with people disappearing from Slack—one day they are active, and the next their account is deactivated with no formal goodbye. It creates a pretty toxic environment when you are waiting for the other shoe to drop. If you have been waiting three months for a backfill, honestly, start looking at your options outside. This level of ambiguity is rarely a good sign for the near future.
