Quiet hiring changes, anyone else seeing this?

Been at Adobe for a few years now, and lately things feel...different. Hiring seems to have completely stalled, not just a temporary freeze. I've seen job postings linger for months without any movement, and internal transfers are practically non-existent. Couple that with budget discussions that seem way more cautious than usual, and it's hard not to feel a bit uneasy. My manager keeps talking about 'strategic reallocation' and 'optimizing resources,' which sounds like corporate speak for 'we're cutting costs.' Just trying to gauge if this is a widespread feeling or if I'm just overthinking things in my corner of the company. Anyone else noticing a significant slowdown in hiring and internal mobility?

Yeah, I've noticed a definite slowdown too. It's not just you. It feels like the company is being extremely deliberate about every single hire, and maybe even looking to cut back in areas that aren't seen as essential. The 'strategic reallocation' talk is definitely making the rounds. It's making it tough for people looking to move internally or for new folks trying to get in the door.

This is pretty much my experience as well. Job openings stay up forever, and it seems like they're not really filling many roles. It's a bit unsettling when you're used to a more dynamic hiring environment. Makes you wonder what the long-term plan is and if we're heading into a period of austerity. Hopefully, it's just a temporary adjustment, but it feels more systemic than that right now.
