Seeing more and more red flags in the last month. Anyone else?

Been at Adobe for a few years now, and the vibe has definitely shifted. The usual buzz is gone, replaced by a kind of quiet unease. My manager has been super cagey about headcount, and I've noticed a bunch of open requisitions suddenly get closed with no explanation. Plus, the internal tools seem to be running slower, and there's been a noticeable increase in 'efficiency initiatives' being pushed from the top. Just feeling like something's brewing, and it's not good. Anyone else in other departments seeing similar patterns? Feels like the calm before a storm, and I'm starting to get nervous.

Yeah, I've felt that too. It's like the energy has just drained out of the place. My team's been stretched thin, and there's this weird silence around any kind of long-term planning. The 'efficiency' push feels less about genuine improvement and more like a prelude to cuts. It's unsettling, especially when you've invested years here. Hope it's just a temporary phase, but it doesn't feel that way.

Anecdotally, I've seen hiring freezes and quiet layoffs at other tech giants before major shifts. The closed requisitions are a definite sign, and the internal tool slowdowns could be infrastructure consolidation. Honestly, start polishing up that resume. It’s better to be prepared for the worst than caught off guard. Don't rely on company loyalty; focus on your own career security.
