Anyone else feeling like the 'good old days' are over?

Man, I don't know if it's just me, but the vibe at AECOM feels different lately. Used to be you could count on steady work, maybe a bonus if things were really good. Now it feels like we're constantly on edge, waiting for the next shoe to drop. Budgets seem tighter, travel is harder to get approved, and the general optimism seems to have evaporated. I've been here a while, and this current climate feels more uncertain than anything I've experienced before. It's not just project delays or anything specific, it's more of a general sense of unease permeating the company. Anyone else feeling this way? Is this an AECOM thing, or is the whole industry just going through it right now?

I hear you. It's definitely a different atmosphere than it used to be. I've been seeing the same things – the tighter budgets, the scrutiny on everything. It makes it hard to feel secure, doesn't it? It feels like the company's priorities have shifted significantly, and not necessarily in a way that benefits the long-term stability of the workforce. I'm trying to stay positive, but it's a challenge when the daily reality is so much more stressful than before. Hope things improve soon.

Hmm, I'm not sure I'm seeing it quite the same way. Sure, things might feel a bit tighter, but isn't that just the nature of the industry cycles? We've had booms and busts before. Maybe it's less about the 'good old days' being gone and more about adapting to current market conditions. I'm focusing on what I can control – delivering great work and staying efficient. Overthinking the uncertainty probably won't help us navigate it any better. Let's see how the next quarter shakes out.
