Anyone else feeling the pinch at AECOM? Budgets seem tighter.

Hey everyone, posting anonymously here. Been with AECOM for a few years now in [redacted department/location, e.g., Structural Engineering in the Northeast]. Lately, I've noticed a significant tightening of budgets across the board. Training budgets are frozen, travel is heavily scrutinized, and even basic office supplies seem to be under a microscope. We've had a couple of project wins that were hailed as major successes, but the staffing requests for them are being met with "we need to find efficiencies first." It feels like we're being asked to do more with less, which is standard, but this feels different. More pressure, less support. I haven't heard any direct layoff rumors, but the general atmosphere feels... tense. It's hard to explain, but it's like walking on eggshells. Just wondering if this is a company-wide trend or if it's isolated to my division. Any similar observations from others?

I'm feeling it too. It's definitely a different atmosphere compared to a couple of years ago. Feels like we're constantly being asked to do more with less, and the enthusiasm for new initiatives has definitely taken a hit when the purse strings are so tight. Hoping things pick up soon, or at least that there's more clarity on the horizon.

Yeah, the budget crunch is real. It makes it tough to plan long-term or even feel secure about resource allocation for ongoing projects. I've heard similar stories from colleagues in different sectors. It's a challenging environment right now, and I'm curious to see how AECOM navigates these leaner times.
