Anyone else seeing 'restructuring' whispers in the internal chats?

Is it just me, or has the vibe in the office shifted significantly over the last two weeks? Ever since the last leadership town hall, the tone regarding our pipeline has been weirdly defensive. I’ve noticed a few senior VPs mentioning 'operational efficiency' and 'streamlining delivery models' in the latest internal memo. We all know what that corporate-speak usually translates to. I work in the transportation division, and while we’re supposedly slammed with projects, the overhead pressure is reaching a fever pitch. Management keeps harping on hitting specific margin targets, but how are we supposed to do that when the resources keep getting cut? I’ve been talking to a few buddies in other departments, and they’ve noticed the same weird freeze on hiring contractors. It feels like the company is trying to trim the fat before the end of the fiscal year. Has anyone heard anything concrete, or are we just collectively paranoid because of the industry-wide trend right now? I’ve been here for five years and I’ve never seen the leadership this tight-lipped during the monthly check-ins.
