Any departments feeling the heat more than others?

Hey all, been feeling some weird vibes around lately. Noticed a few roles that were open for ages suddenly get pulled. Also, seems like some teams are being told to 'do more with less' way more aggressively than usual. Anyone else in different departments seeing this? Is it just a specific area catching a cold, or is there something broader going on that I'm not privy to? Trying to gauge if this is a company-wide thing or isolated. Heard some whispers in the kitchen but nothing concrete. Any intel would be appreciated, trying to figure out where the axe *might* fall if it does.

Yeah, I'm definitely picking up on the same thing. Our team's been under pretty intense pressure to cut costs and streamline processes, and it feels like the goalposts are constantly moving. We've had a couple of key positions frozen, and the 'do more with less' mantra is getting old fast. It certainly feels broader than just one or two departments. Management's messaging hasn't exactly been transparent, which just adds to the unease.

Interesting you bring this up. From my perspective in Engineering, things seem pretty stable, though we have noticed some delays in hiring for non-critical roles. I wonder if the 'heat' is more concentrated in customer-facing or administrative departments? It's hard to say without more concrete info. Maybe it's just seasonal budget adjustments or a strategic reallocation of resources that hasn't been clearly communicated yet. Keep an eye on those 'whispers'!
