Anyone else feeling uneasy? (Engineering)

I'm in engineering, been here almost 3 years. I've been hearing whispers about performance reviews being extra critical this quarter, and some teams are supposedly being 'reorganized'. My gut is telling me something's up, and it's not good. Anyone else getting similar vibes? I really like my team and the work we're doing, so the thought of layoffs is stressing me out. I'm starting to update my resume, just in case. I feel like I'm constantly refreshing this forum and looking for info. Ugh.

Yeah, I'm feeling it too. Things have been a bit too quiet on the project front, if you know what I mean. I've seen this happen before at other places. Usually means they're trying to cut costs and 'restructure' without outright saying layoffs are coming. Updating your resume is a smart move. Better to be prepared than caught off guard. Hang in there!

Honestly, this happens every performance review cycle. People get anxious, rumors start flying, and then... nothing really changes. Maybe they're just tightening the screws a bit. Don't let the gossip get to you. Focus on your work, make sure your manager knows what you're contributing, and try to ignore the noise. If layoffs *do* happen, they happen. No use stressing about it beforehand.
