Anyone else noticing a shift in management communication lately?

Hey folks, been at Affirm for a bit now and have noticed a pretty significant change in how leadership is communicating over the last quarter or so. Meetings feel more scripted, less Q&A, and a lot of vague statements about 'navigating the macro environment.' My skip-level used to be pretty open about challenges, but now it's just platitudes about 'resilience' and 'focusing on priorities.' Honestly, it's making me a bit uneasy. Feels like they're preparing us for something without actually saying it. Is anyone else picking up on this? Or am I just overthinking things because of all the noise in the fintech space right now? Curious to hear if others feel the same vibe shift.

I've definitely felt something similar. It's like the usual transparency has been dialled back, and the 'big picture' talk feels a lot more generalized than before. The shift from direct answers to more abstract concepts is noticeable. It would be good to hear from someone who has more insight into what might be driving this change, or if it's just a cyclical thing in corporate comms.

This is pretty standard when companies are facing uncertainty, macro or otherwise. They want to project confidence and control, even if the specifics are still being worked out or aren't ready for broad dissemination. My advice? Focus on what you *can* control – your own work and performance. The 'why' behind comms shifts isn't always immediately obvious or relevant to your day-to-day.
