Just saw the latest WARN notice go live for Allegheny County. It’s official—Affirm filed for a layoff effective Feb 15th. I know there was a lot of quiet speculation in the Slack channels over the last few weeks, but seeing it on the state portal makes it hit different. For those of you who were impacted, I’m genuinely sorry. It’s been a rough stretch for the fintech sector and it feels like the cost-cutting measures are just rolling on indefinitely. It is honestly exhausting watching the fintech sector bleed out like this. Everyone has been waiting for the other shoe to drop, and seeing it finally hit the WARN notice makes the uncertainty feel so much worse. I know words don't pay the bills, but I really hope everyone caught in this wave lands on their feet quickly. If you have been let go, make sure to leverage the internal networking groups while you still have access; people are definitely trying to help where they can.

The mood in the office has been abysmal for months, but seeing it officially posted is a gut punch. It feels like we are just waiting for the next round of cuts every single quarter now.
