Is anyone else seeing a hiring freeze across the board?

Hey everyone. Been with Affirm for about 3 years now, working on the merchant integrations team. Lately, it feels like all hiring requisitions have just... stopped. My manager can't give a straight answer, just vague comments about 'strategic resource allocation.' We haven't had headcount approved for new hires in months, and even internal transfers seem to be on hold. Anyone else in different departments noticing the same thing? Especially curious if this is company-wide or just an engineering thing. Feels like a quiet freeze is happening, and wondering what it might mean.

That's definitely concerning. I've been hearing similar whispers in my team (also engineering, but a different vertical). 'Strategic resource allocation' feels like corporate speak for 'we're not hiring.' It's tough not knowing what's going on, especially when you're looking to grow or bring in new talent. Hang in there, hopefully, they'll share more concrete information soon.

I'm in a non-engineering department, and while we haven't had a formal freeze announced, hiring has definitely slowed to a crawl. Open requisitions are taking ages to get approved, if they get approved at all. It feels like the company is tightening its belt. I'd advise focusing on your current projects and making sure your contributions are highly visible. That might be the best way to secure resources or justify future headcount.
