It gave me a sense of control and options, even if I ultimately stayed.
Transparency? At Affirm? Good luck with that. Management only cares about their bonuses. Been there, done that. Start prepping your resume and networking. Don't wait around for them to 'announce plans' because by then, you'll be scrambling with everyone else who got caught off guard. It's a dog-eat-dog world. Protect yourself.
