Performance Review Cycle Feels Off This Year

Anyone else feel like the usual performance review cadence is being stretched or is just generally unclear this year? Usually by this time, we've had at least one check-in about goals and expectations, and the timeline for formal reviews is pretty well-established. This year, it feels like a lot of ambiguity. My manager is being vague, and I'm not sure if this is a deliberate slowdown or just a sign of broader operational shifts happening behind the scenes. I've got my own targets to hit, but it's hard to feel motivated when the formal feedback loop seems to be lagging. Curious to hear if others are in a similar boat or if there's a memo I missed somewhere.

Yeah, I'm feeling this too. The usual markers are just not there, and trying to get a straight answer from management feels like pulling teeth. It's creating a weird level of anxiety when we're supposed to be focused on hitting our numbers. I'm starting to wonder if there's a new system being rolled out or if they're just behind on everything. It's definitely not the usual structure we've come to expect, and it's making goal setting feel a bit like guesswork.

Totally agree. The lack of clarity around the performance review cycle this year is pretty unsettling. My manager's been pretty cagey when I've asked, just saying 'things are in flux.' It's hard to stay motivated and aligned when the framework for measuring success feels so uncertain. Usually, there's a clear path and understanding by now, but this year feels like we're navigating without a map. Hoping we get some concrete information soon.
