August 9th departure logistics - any word on internal system access?

For those of us officially out on August 9th, has anyone received clear communication regarding internal system access? I’ve heard rumors that IT shuts off all access, including email and internal portals, the moment the clock strikes midnight on the exit date. I’m scrambling to grab my performance records and contacts, but I’m worried about tripping a security flag if I pull too much data at once. HR has been completely radio silent on the 'how-to' of the transition. They sent over the severance paperwork, but the actual technical aspect of offboarding is a mess. Are we getting a bridge period to download personal documents, or is it a hard cut? I’d hate to lose access to my work history and archived communications if I need them for future job applications or reference checks. If anyone has dealt with a previous round of cuts here, please let me know if there's a grace period or if I should assume everything is getting wiped immediately. Good luck to everyone else in this boat.

I was part of a previous restructuring round, and I can confirm that access is usually cut instantly. Don’t push your luck with large data downloads; the monitoring systems are very sensitive during these transition periods. It’s better to lose a few non-essential contacts than to trigger a security alert that could jeopardize your severance package or your standing for future rehire. Just print what you absolutely need right now and assume the portal will be gone the second your badge stops working.

It is honestly frustrating how vague HR is being about the offboarding process. From my experience with the internal protocols here, once your termination date hits, you’re locked out of everything immediately. If you’re worried about security flags, try to spread out your document requests over the next day or two rather than pulling everything at once. Keep a cool head and focus on getting your personal tax documents and performance reviews saved offline before the final cut-off happens. Good luck with the transition.
