Has anyone seen the recent hiring freeze rumors?

Hearing whispers about a hiring freeze across several departments. My manager was super vague when I asked, just said things are 'being evaluated.' It's pretty unsettling, especially with the market the way it is. Feels like we're heading into a tough period. Anyone else picked up on this? Trying to get a sense of whether it's company-wide or just specific teams. If it's widespread, it's definitely a sign of things to come. Hope I'm wrong, but it's hard not to worry.

My team just got hit with a hiring pause too. It's not just whispers, it's real. They cited 'budget recalibration' but honestly, it feels like a precursor to layoffs. My advice? Start dusting off the resume. It's better to be proactive than caught off guard. Don't want to spread panic, but the vibe here is definitely shifting, and not for the better. Keep your ears open and your network warm.

I've heard similar talk, but honestly, 'evaluation' can mean a lot of things. Sometimes it's just standard end-of-year budgeting or project prioritization. My department had a temporary freeze last quarter, and it ended up being nothing major. We just had to justify every new hire extra hard. Let's not jump to the worst-case scenario just yet. The market *is* weird, but Agilent is a pretty stable company.
