Rethinking career path after a year here

Been at Agilent (LSI) for just over a year now, and I'm starting to feel like this isn't the long-term fit I thought it would be. The projects are interesting enough, but the overall direction and stability feel a bit... uncertain. I see other companies posting openings and hear whispers about the market picking up elsewhere, but here it feels like we're just treading water. Anyone else in a similar boat? Wondering if I should start passively looking or if things are actually going to pick up. The initial excitement has definitely worn off, and now I'm just trying to figure out what's next. Is it just me, or does the future here feel a bit cloudy?

I've been with Agilent for a few years now, and I can relate to the feeling of uncertainty. While the company has its strengths, particularly in certain R&D areas, the pace can sometimes feel slow compared to more dynamic industries. It's not unusual for established companies like this to have periods where strategic shifts take time to manifest. I've found that focusing on developing in-demand skills internally and networking with colleagues in different departments can provide a sense of progress, even when external market signals are mixed. It might be worth exploring internal mobility options before jumping ship entirely.
