AIG - Anyone else feeling the pressure lately?

Hey everyone, lurker here, but this place feels right for this. Been at AIG for a few years now, and lately, the vibe has been… tense. Not sure if it's just my department or a company-wide thing, but there's been a lot of hushed conversations and a general feeling of 'walking on eggshells.' My manager's been cagey about future projects, and there have been a few 'synergy' meetings that felt more like a prelude to something else. Performance reviews definitely felt like they were being used to build a case for something, even though nothing's been officially announced. Just wondering if anyone else is picking up on this or if I'm just overthinking it. Trying to stay optimistic, but it's hard when the air feels thick with uncertainty. Anyone got any insights or similar experiences?

Yeah, I've noticed it too, though I'm in a different division. There's definitely an undercurrent of uncertainty that wasn't there before. Project scopes seem to be shifting more frequently, and there's a lot of talk about 'efficiency improvements' that sounds like code for cutbacks. Trying to stay focused on my work, but it's hard not to feel the general anxiety. Hopefully, it's just a temporary phase and things will stabilize soon.

I can echo that sentiment. The atmosphere has felt heavier these past few months. It's like everyone's holding their breath, waiting for the other shoe to drop. My team's been tasked with consolidating some workflows, and the rationale provided was pretty vague. It's creating a bit of paranoia, honestly. Just trying to keep my head down and do a good job, but it’s a challenge when the overall direction feels unclear.
