AIG - Rumblings about restructuring?

Hey everyone, been seeing a lot of chatter on here and elsewhere about potential big changes at AIG. No official word, of course, but the vibe is getting… uneasy. I'm in [Department X] and lately, there's been this weird quiet. Projects that were hot are suddenly on the back burner, and some key people are suddenly less visible. I've heard whispers about the usual suspects – "efficiency improvements," "strategic realignment," etc. You know the drill. Is anyone else in other departments picking up on this? Is it just my team being overly sensitive, or is there a real wind of change blowing through AIG? Trying to gauge the general sentiment and see if others are feeling the same pre-layoff jitters, even without a concrete announcement. Just looking for some collective wisdom here, if anyone has any insights or has been through similar situations at AIG or elsewhere. Anyone else in [Department Y] or [Department Z] hearing anything similar? Trying to get a broader picture.

Yeah, feeling that unease too. In [Department Y], we've noticed similar things. Budgets seem tighter than usual, and there's a general lack of clarity on future projects. Management's been pretty tight-lipped, which just fuels the speculation. Hoping it's just a standard cyclical thing, but it definitely feels different this time around.

I'm in [Department Z] and haven't heard much directly, but the general mood does seem a bit tense. Some colleagues have mentioned delays in approvals and a shift in priorities. It's hard to ignore the 'rumblings' when you're seeing subtle changes in day-to-day operations. Hopefully, any changes will be for the better in the long run.
