Anyone else feeling the vibe of 'tightening the belt' at AIG?

Lately, it feels like we're being asked to do more with less. Budgets for smaller things are getting questioned more than usual, travel is becoming a bigger hurdle to get approved, and there's a general sense of caution when it comes to any kind of spending. I'm not hearing any direct talk about layoffs, and my manager is still giving the standard 'everything is fine' spiel, but the actions feel a bit different. Are other departments seeing this too? It's like a subtle shift, but it's definitely noticeable. Just trying to gauge if this is a company-wide thing or if I'm just in a department that's feeling the pinch more than others. Any insights from folks in different areas of AIG would be appreciated. Trying to plan ahead, and this ambiguity is making it tough.

Yeah, I've definitely noticed it. My team's been under a microscope for project expenses lately, and even small training requests are getting extra scrutiny. It's not just you. Feels like management is playing it super conservative with discretionary funds, even if they're not saying much officially. Just trying to stay focused and deliver results, hoping it blows over. Fingers crossed it doesn't lead to anything more serious down the line.
