Project prioritization seems all over the place lately

Is it just me, or has the way projects are being prioritized become completely chaotic? We'll get a major push on Initiative X, pour resources into it for a few weeks, and then suddenly it's 'de-prioritized' in favor of Initiative Y, which then gets the same treatment. Makes it impossible to actually gain traction on anything meaningful and feels like a huge waste of time and effort. Anyone else seeing this kind of flip-flopping? Wondering if there's some internal strategy shift we're not privy to, or if it's just a general lack of clear direction from the top. Starting to wonder what the point of all these 'strategic' initiatives really is if they can just be abandoned on a whim.

I'm right there with you. It feels like we're constantly chasing the latest shiny object instead of sticking to a clear path. The constant context-switching is draining, and honestly, it's hard to feel motivated when you know today's 'top priority' could be tomorrow's forgotten project. I've started documenting the shifts internally, hoping to build a case for more stable roadmaps, but it's an uphill battle. Management seems disconnected from the impact this has on the ground.

Could it be that the 'strategy shift' is precisely *not* having a rigid, long-term strategy? Maybe the leadership is trying to stay incredibly agile and pivot quickly based on market changes or new information we aren't seeing? While it's frustrating for day-to-day execution, perhaps there's a larger, albeit opaque, game plan at play. It's tough to say without more intel, but I wouldn't immediately dismiss it as pure chaos.
