Slowdown in Hiring? Air Products

Hey everyone, been with AP for a few years now and lately things feel…different. We had a pretty steady stream of new hires coming in across different departments, but it feels like that's really dried up in the last quarter or so. Budgets seem tighter, and even internal transfers are taking way longer than usual. Anyone else in different divisions noticing this? Not hearing any official word, but the general vibe feels more cautious than before. Just trying to gauge if this is an AP-specific thing or a broader industry trend I should be aware of. Curious to hear what others are seeing on the ground.

Yeah, I've definitely felt a shift too. My department's been trying to fill a couple of key roles for months now with no real movement. It's frustrating because we're stretched thin as it is. The internal transfer process, which used to be relatively straightforward, has become a bureaucratic maze. It's making it tough to bring in experienced folks from other teams who might already be familiar with our systems and culture. Hoping it's just a temporary lull and not a sign of bigger issues down the line.

Interesting you mention this. We were expecting to bring on a couple of new grads this summer, but that pipeline seems to have frozen. Management is being tight-lipped, but the word on the street is that discretionary spending is on hold. It's definitely a change from the growth-oriented atmosphere of the past few years. Makes you wonder if the company is bracing for tougher economic times or just re-evaluating its strategic priorities. Curious to see what Q3 and Q4 bring.
