Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like morale is in the toilet?

Been at Airbnb for almost 6 years now, in the Engineering org. I've seen the ups and downs, but lately the vibe is just...off. Used to be, people were excited about the mission, the product, everything. Now it feels like everyone's walking on eggshells, waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'm seeing more and more people quietly updating their LinkedIn profiles, and there's this constant undercurrent of anxiety in meetings. Anyone else picking up on this? Am I just being paranoid?

Not paranoid at all. I'm in Product and feel the exact same way. It's like the constant re-orgs and strategy shifts have finally worn everyone down. Remember that period a few years back when things were humming? Seems like a distant memory. I think a lot of people are just exhausted from the constant uncertainty and feeling like their work might be irrelevant in a few months. Time to dust off the resume.

Honestly, every big company goes through cycles like this. Six years is a long time to be anywhere, and it's easy to romanticize the 'good old days'. Maybe the mission just doesn't resonate with you as much anymore, or you're ready for a new challenge? Before you jump ship, have you considered talking to your manager about your concerns and seeing if there are any opportunities for growth or a change of scenery within the company? Might be worth a shot.
