It is demoralizing to watch the strategy shift from 'growth at all costs' to this endless cycle of thinning the herd. The constant messaging about 'optimization' feels like a thin veil for a lack of long-term vision. When the recruiting team gets gutted, it sends a clear signal that the company isn't planning for growth anytime soon. Everyone is looking over their shoulder, waiting to see if their department is next on the chopping block. The culture of trust has completely evaporated.
I understand the frustration, but these layoffs are often a necessary correction after years of bloated headcount. Leadership has to pivot toward profitability, and unfortunately, support roles are usually the first to be re-evaluated when the market cools down. It’s a harsh reality of the current economic environment, not just at this company but across the entire tech sector. Focusing on your core projects and keeping your resume updated is the only real insurance you have in this industry.
