Quiet whispers about Q1 2025 cuts?

I’ve been tracking the rumor mill for a few weeks now. Despite the official line about strong order books and meeting production targets, there’s a persistent narrative circulating about 'right-sizing' certain business units. I know we’ve been struggling with supply chain bottlenecks, but word is that they might try to offset some of those operational inefficiencies by trimming the fat in admin and support services early next year. I haven't seen a formal announcement, but the level of micromanagement from leadership has hit an all-time high. Every single purchase order is getting scrutinized by someone two levels up. That’s rarely a sign of a company that is comfortable with its current cash burn. Does anyone have any actual intel on whether a formal reduction in force is being planned, or are we just dealing with a standard period of belt-tightening? It feels like we are walking on eggshells every time an all-hands meeting gets scheduled.

The talk about Q1 cuts has been floating around for a while now, and honestly, it’s not surprising given the supply chain mess. Management keeps spinning the order book narrative, but when you look at the mounting operational costs, it’s clear something has to give. If they aren't hitting delivery targets, they'll inevitably look at admin and support layers to balance the books. Expect the usual corporate vague-speak until the actual announcement hits in January.

I wouldn't put too much stock into the panic just yet. Every year around this time, there’s chatter about 'right-sizing' that never seems to materialize into actual layoffs across the main units. Airbus is heavily invested in long-term expansion right now, and cutting support staff while trying to scale up production feels counterintuitive. I’m waiting for something more concrete than just hearsay from the floor before I start worrying about my seat.
