Is anyone else seeing performance reviews get... intense?

Lately, it feels like performance reviews have ramped up significantly. The bar seems to be set higher, and the discussions are more focused on 'impact' and 'efficiency' than usual. It's not just my manager; I've overheard similar sentiments from colleagues in other departments. It makes me wonder if this is a precursor to something else, or just the company trying to get everyone laser-focused. The way it's being framed, it feels like they're evaluating every single role and its contribution. Just hoping it's a normal business cycle push, but the intensity has me a little on edge. Anyone else experiencing this shift in performance evaluation tone?

Yeah, I've noticed it too. It feels like there's a real push to quantify everything and demonstrate clear ROI on every task. The emphasis on 'impact' is definitely a shift, and it can be a bit daunting when you're trying to map your daily work to those broader strategic goals. It's making me re-evaluate how I articulate my contributions and look for those measurable outcomes.

It's not just you! The intensity has definitely picked up. My manager is really drilling down on metrics and expecting detailed justifications for how time is spent. It feels like a tighter grip, and while I understand the need for accountability, it's creating a bit of added pressure. Hoping it's just a phase to boost productivity and not a sign of bigger organizational changes down the line.
