Severance package questions - if it comes to it

Okay, so nothing's confirmed, and I really hope it doesn't come to this. But you hear things, you see the trends in the industry, and it’s hard not to think about the worst-case scenario. I've been with Align for 6 years in Marketing. If, hypothetically, layoffs were to happen, what's a realistic severance package to expect here? I've seen some posts from other med device companies, but Align feels a bit different. Curious if anyone has experience or insight into what Align's typical policy might be in such a situation. Thinking about notice period, continued benefits, outplacement services, etc. Just trying to be prepared.

Hey, I totally get where you're coming from. It's smart to be prepared, even if you hope for the best. While I don't have specifics for Align, I can say that in medtech, severance often ties into tenure. Six years is a solid chunk of time, so hopefully, that counts in your favor. Keep an eye on any official communications, and maybe discreetly check Glassdoor or similar sites for any past anonymized reports, though take those with a grain of salt.

Honestly, worrying about severance before anything's even announced feels a bit premature. Align has been pretty stable overall, despite industry jitters. Focus on doing great work and staying visible. If something *does* happen, it's usually a standard HR process. Trying to predict it now might just add unnecessary stress. Wouldn't it be better to focus that energy on demonstrating your value?
