Allegion: Is it just me or is the culture shifting?

Lately, I've been getting a weird vibe around the office, and not in a good way. It feels like there's a lot more silence in meetings, less open discussion, and a general sense of people just keeping their heads down. Management seems more distant, and casual chats with colleagues are fewer and further between. It's like everyone's afraid to say the wrong thing or ask a tough question. Are others picking up on this? Is this a company-wide thing or just my department? Wondering if this is a precursor to bigger changes or if I'm just overthinking it. Used to feel like a pretty collaborative place, but something feels different now. Anyone else experiencing this shift in atmosphere?

I've noticed something similar. It's definitely quieter than it used to be. People seem more hesitant to volunteer ideas or challenge the status quo. I'm not sure if it's intentional management strategy or just a natural consequence of the current economic climate, but it's a bit disheartening. I miss the days when brainstorming sessions felt more dynamic and energetic. Hopefully, this is a temporary phase and not a fundamental shift in how we operate.

Hmm, I haven't felt that strongly about it. My team is still pretty vocal in meetings, and I haven't noticed management being particularly distant. Maybe it's specific to certain departments or locations? It's easy to project feelings onto the broader company when things feel off in your own corner. I'd suggest trying to talk to a few trusted colleagues in different areas to get a wider perspective before assuming it's a universal problem.
