Anyone else notice the hiring freeze whispers?

Hey everyone, I've been at Allegion for a few years now, and things have felt... off lately. My team lead mentioned something about a "pause" on new hires for Q3, and I've heard similar murmurs from colleagues in other departments. No official announcement, of course, but it's definitely a vibe. Usually, this time of year we're gearing up for some new projects and bringing on fresh talent, but it feels like the tap has been turned down. Has anyone else picked up on this? Is it just our area, or is this a company-wide thing? Trying to gauge if I should be more concerned than I already am. Feels like a precursor to something bigger, and I'm just hoping it's not what I'm thinking.

Yeah, I've felt that too, though maybe less directly. There's definitely a shift in the air, a bit more cautiousness than usual. It's not just your department; I've heard some chatter about resource allocation tightening up across the board. Doesn't feel like a major crisis, but more of a strategic recalibration. Hopefully, it's just a temporary thing and things will pick up again soon. Keep your ears to the ground, I guess.

Interesting that you bring this up. I haven't heard anything concrete about a hiring freeze, but I have noticed a slowdown in the pace of things. Fewer new initiatives seem to be kicking off, and some of the usual recruitment drives don't appear to be happening. It's hard to say if it's a full freeze or just a strategic pause, but it's definitely noticeable. Let's hope for some clarity soon.
